Story #51: Nathaniel L. Dewell - Early Pictures of Country Club Homes, continued.
More images from Nathaniel L. Dewell, a commercial photographer who worked almost exclusively in Omaha, Nebraska, from the 1910s until 1940. From the late 1920s through 1940 he captured many newly built homes in the Country Club neighborhood.

In May 1929, Rasp Bros took out a building permit for $4,500 to build a five room home at 5128 Parker St. At the time they were also building a home across that street at 5127 Parker St. When completed in October 1929 the home immediately went for sale. Ads promoted its five extra large rooms, breakfast room, all tile bathroom and attached garage. After being on the market for almost a year it sold to George and Gertrude Reynolds. George was listed as a stockman. By 1935 the property had been sold again to D. Ray Campbell, a supervisor for the Western Electric Co. The photograph was taken in 1930 by Nathaniel Dewell. The home at 2507 N. 56th St. was built in 1930 by Sloan & McKie real estate company for Vernon S. and Myrtle A. Schleh. Vernon was a general agent for the American Refrigerator Transit Co. General Contractor Emil Holmstrom took out a building permit for $5,000 to build the home at 2018 N. 53rd St. When completed it was sold to Josiah and Alma Wasserburger.
