Story #53: Nathaniel L. Dewell - Early Pictures of Country Club Homes, continued
More images from Nathaniel L. Dewell, a commercial photographer who worked almost exclusively in Omaha, Nebraska, from the 1910s until 1940. From the late 1920s through 1940 he captured many newly built homes in the Country Club neighborhood.

The home at 2032 N. 54th Street was built in 1928 by W.O. Moninger for F. Patrick and Estelle Boyle. Patrick worked at Cornhusker Cigar Store and was a boxing promoter. The photograph was taken in 1932 by Nathaniel Dewell. Photo #82632 in the Nebraska State Historical Society Archives.

The home at 2716 Country Club Ave. was built by Emil Holmstrom for J. Truitt and Alice B. Maxwell. J. Truitt was the general secretary of the YMCA. The photograph was taken in 1931 by Nathaniel Dewell. Photo #82573 in the Nebraska State Historical Society Archives.

The home at 2512 N. 53rd St.was designed by Charles Rosenberry and built by Alex Gustafson for Gilbert E. and Hedwig Olson in 1928. Gilbert was the owner of Olson Bros., a metalworks company. The home was sold in 1833 to Harry L. and Johanna Zents. Harry was a buyer for Paxton & Gallagher. The photograph was not taken by Nathaniel Dewell but Bostwick Frohardt (BF4541-006) and is from The Durham Museum’s archives
